Treasured Lands Foundation

In this era of intensifying economic challenges and clamping government budget crunches, the future of public land conservation is fraught with uncertainty. Not even our award-winning Parks Department programs are immune—as recent park closings attest.

Martin County residents have long demonstrated their commitment to land conservation, going so far as to overwhelmingly vote in favor of half-cent sales tax increases to raise money for land purchases.

Although it’s raised enough funds to purchases tens of thousands of acres for preservation, the voluntary tax increase will soon sunset. As public coffers continue shrinking, it's more apparent than ever before that the future protection of Martin County's green space needs a third way.

Treasured Lands Foundation provides that path.

The dedicated team of conservationists, wildlife advocates, business leaders and nature lovers that makes up Treasured Lands Foundation is committed to forging partnerships to purchase environmentally vital lands, reopen closed parks, streamline operating costs and maintain the programs that benefit so many children, seniors and families.

Thanks to some generous endowments from benefactors committed to a legacy of environmental consciousness, alongside a running campaign of grassroots support, Treasured Lands intends to purchase environmentally important land and make sure the public can enjoy it.
